I’m poet Guy Farmer and I write evocative modern poems for people who love minimalism.
I was recently having a conversation with an artist and we talked about how people look at abstract paintings or minimalist architecture and think a child could do it because of its seeming simplicity when, in reality, there is a lot more that goes into creating an outwardly simple poem or work of art.
One of the reasons my poems resonate with lovers of minimalism is that (as with art or architecture) they appear simple at first glance but, upon deeper reflection, suggest many new interpretations.
I had a reader in Portland tell me that my poems are, “Precious, concise morsels of great complexity.”
